| a must read.. i still bleed rothetraining.com.. but.. i have to give a shout out to the guys at podium training.. this is great! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you get pounded in races, instead of pounding idiots? Are you a flail, instead of flailing? Do you aspire to the lofty goal of banking a cool 12K per year? Do you get dropped, chopped, hacked, or fugged at the bench races? Are you a dreamer whose dreams have been crushed? Boy do we have the answer for you! Hi Billy Mays here for Hawkstar, Nimrod, and Associates et al. We have what you need to up your bench racing game! Stop flailing along foodie; sweating, heaving, grunting, puffy-faced, trying to not get shelled. Learn from the masters themselves, the sages of bench racing. For a mere 1.2k a month, you get a training schedule detailing all of your bikini intervals, your special "sun-dial" pace field test protocol, and an official HN&A Helmet that you can leave draped over your handlebars, to achieve that "pro" look. But wait...we're not done yet! If you act now, we'll throw in a special gift, only available to the first 1200 callers...the special "shortcuts to foodie" map and cue sheet, with every shortcut laid out in detail, from the master of the short-cut himself, Chuck-E-Cheese! Operators are standing by at 1(800)Dreamer. That's the number 1, 800, D R E A M E R. Billy Mays does not actually endorse HN&A. This message was paid for by Podium Training, Inc. Podium Training |

| wenger was right.. it was unbelievable. a total of 6ooo feet of climbing and absolute beauty. it was damn good to see dogtown. i haven't seen him in years.. he looks great. for those who don't know aron, he raced for mathis bros back in the day.. an absolute powerhouse and one of my favorite teammates ever. some pic's from today.. ![]() on my way up.. ![]() on our way up mt. tam ![]() (l-r) dogtown (aron huerta), hippy, and i on our way down. they both made me look silly on the descent. ![]() pure labor ![]() another view on our way up. ![]() unbelievable. this road winds along the ridge. ![]() closeup ![]() greatness.. ![]() san francisco from the top of tam ![]() looking out over everything ![]() twittering from the top. this has been an awesome trip.. hippstar's a greatest host ever. the riding is the greatest anywhere. a cycling paradise. i've posted lot's of picture on my flickr page here. bubba called and gave me the fayetteville report. as always, he played the perfect teammate and helped stefan slay all.. well, most all. second to blackgrove is pretty much like winning. gonna finish watching st. louis supercross. -ouT surFy |

ride today was bad to the bone. 5:40 total. unparalleled beauty. started from hippstar's (redwood city, ca), rode out to pacifica, and then back.. over all kinds of terrain. when you ride with THE hippstar, you never know what you're going to get.![]() hippstar and i @ crystal springs ![]() san andreas reservoir ![]() the famous mavericks. it's been a life long dream of mine to see it in person. ![]() princeton harbor ![]() a little dirt trail action.. along the cliffs @ mavericks. ![]() only kidding.. although, i have felt like this at times. ![]() pure beauty. ![]() gearing up to motorpace. NOTE: the bling, bling mathis watch. ![]() hippstar taking a photo opportunity. ![]() along the cliff. ![]() beached.. low tide. the riding has been awesome. tomorrow we're going to ride with my former mathis teammate, aron huerta, up in marin county. wenger once told me that marin county is the most beautiful place to ride on the planet. dinner time.. lamb chops : ) -ouT surFy |

| once again.. hello. i'm surfernick. time is at a premium these days.. and something has to give. but right now, at this very second, i have lots of time.. 3:46 mins to be exact. as my fingers dance along this keyboard, i'm simultaneously staring out the window of a american airlines s80 at a beautiful sunset.. from seat 3a to be exact.. that's right, 1st class baby : ) a glass of nice (airplane standards) patiently sitting on the right side of my tray and some warm mixed nuts on my left. at the moment.. life is good. hell, they didn't even charge me for my bike. but we all know how your luck can change in an instant. it's bittersweet though.. i miss my girls terribly already. i wanted to spend the day with them so took them to work with me. they completely destroyed my office. it looked like kb toys threw up underneath my conference room table.. but they had a good time so it's all good. they're probably all snuggled up in my bed watching a movie right now.. eating cheesy popcorn. i can't complain too much.. i'm in route to the famous casa de la hippstar-o. over the next week, i'll tackle some of the most beautiful roads the u.s. has to offer. the trip is actually two-fold.. i have a CFM review class to take on thursday and friday but i'll be out early enough to get a few hours in each day. probably a little time behind the motorbike as well. hipp has it all planned out.. tomorrow evening is the infamous wednesday worlds.. so make sure you stayed tuned. maybe i'll update while i'm on the road via twitter. yes, twitter. this way you can keep up with me every minute of every day. for those who don't know THE hippstar.. first, i'm sorry.. second, he's a legend.. a true legend. his racing age is somewhere in the latter 40's and he's still finishing up in the top 10 in some major p/1 crits.. hell, he won one of them last year- the burlingame criterium. he's amazing. always able to put himself in the right position at the right time.. the true mark of a sprinter. though, i wouldn't call him a "true sprinter" a la rogut style but he's pretty damn close.. he's DAMN good. though as nails.. they say he use to drink rattlesnake piss before races. i'm not sure if that true or not.. of if that's even possible.. but i wouldn't put it past him. change the subject now.. not entirely.. still bike related. it's time to build the family cruising machine. i'm thinking of something steel, possible lugged. it's got to stupid dope looking as well.. i have a rep to uphold. i'm thinking mtb bars, my rock shox paris roubaix (not the ruby) - i have some of the actual forks that lotto rode in paris roubaix, maybe an internal hub, possibly disc breaks, a 15" woofer, the total package. i'm looking at either soma or surly.. opinions?? my boy kerkhof, or k3 as i like to call him, is gonna hook it up but i'm not sure what direction to go. speaking of directions.. apparently some asshole got bad directions and cut my boy, tj.. aka THE jeweler or tyler jewell, off causing him to crash in a serious way - broken scapula, clavicle, several ribs, pride, and a punctured lung. el amigo driving had one too many bud lights and is now on a forced vacation. but don't fret ladies.. word on the street is that he's looking as pretty as ever.. he'll be back in no time. on the bright side.. by the time he's back on the bike, he'll have new tx tough clothing. supposedly it showed up to geoff's today.. we'll see. it's now 10:26.. the flight attendant just hooked me up with two more chocolate chip cookies and another glass of wine : ) i have some ambient moby streaming though the ipod. i'm not a super moby fan but he does have some good ambient stuff.. specifically his songs 1993-1998 album. the track God moving over the face of the waters is one of my all time favorites.. it could very well be THE favorite. lil wayne uses it in his track "i'm me".. another one of my top picks. but ambient is probably my favorite genre.. i fell like it just speaks to my soul. time to hit the potty.. then watch a little 300 on the iphone. check back soon... i promise some updates. -out surFy |
